CIAM’s TABLE in the new ADI Design Index

The 2022 edition of ADI Design Index began on November 14 at the ADI Design Museum, with the presentation of the pieces selected to compete during 2024 for the XXVIII Compasso d’Oro.

A pre-selection that will be completed with next year’s choices, and whose protagonists include TABLE, the CIAM showcase-counter, conceived and designed by Fabrizio Milesi, which overturns roles and patterns of interaction, mixing flavors, aesthetics and sharing.

– I imagined TABLE to try to define a new concept; to reinterpret the idea of the counter through that of the table, as a sign of greater sharing between user and operator by redefining with its presence, even freestanding, the space that welcomes it-explains TABLE designer and CIAM Art Director Fabrizio Milesi. – The counter traditionally divides the operator from the client with a logic of spatial separation. The table, on the other hand, through the element of the top and its generous functional dimensions, explores a new approach in the horeca sector; the refrigerated display cases, horizontal and vertical, made of heated glass seem to rest on the top itself, where people can help themselves, also thanks to their automated opening. –

CIAM is proud to be part of this selection of ADI Design Index 2022, which will be exhibited at the ADI Design Museum from November 15 to 27 and will then move to the Istituto dell’Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani in Rome: an exhibition that aims to portray the lively and dynamic spirit of a varied, innovative Italian design capable of radical revolutions on the key themes of contemporary thoughts and needs.
