CISK TAP – Malta

The Cisk tap is an impressive venue located on the rooftop of the former Simonds Farsons Cisk brewery in Mriehel, Malta. The venue serves as the culmination of the visitor experience through the original brewery, whose spaces have been sensitively restored and converted into the new Brewhouse Visitor Experience. The design explores the interaction between solid, heavy elements and a more liquid, lighter envelope that contrast to provide an immersive and memorable user experience. The solid and pigmented concrete countertop is the centerpiece of the space, a reference to the layered earth-colored geological formations of the area. It is enclosed in a crystalline casing that serves, in part, as a display case and is reminiscent of the unforgettable advertising mirrors that once covered the walls of village bars. The larger part opens space to terraces and rooftop views toward the nation’s current and past capitals.
Ciam was selected by retailer ECB Malta to make the basements that make up the concrete counter, consisting of counters from the Standard line, refrigerated and ambient.
