I AM 7 explores the dimensions of automation
The race for the XXVIII Compasso d’Oro with TABLE in the ADI Design Index, a view of CIAM from the inside, and the element that acts as the glue to its innovation: this and much more in the new issue of the house organ I AM.
In the issue of I AM dedicated to automation, we explore the very concept of this element part of CIAM’s DNA, which also represents the brand’s distinctive character around the world. To read this fundamental component in the multitude of dimensions in which it takes shape, inside and outside the company, I AM 7 opens with an editorial by Gianluigi Viscardi, CEO of Cosberg: “It may seem a paradox, but intelligent automation is not destined to confine man to a marginal role, as is believed: on the contrary, it will reinforce his centrality, enhancing his unrepeatable innate capacities for flexibility and creativity.” It is precisely from this thought, fully shared by CIAM, that visions and concrete applications unfold and touch the company deeply, from its organization to the final product.
It is a matter of great pride for CIAM that among the protagonists of the ADI Design Index 2022 is its TABLE, the showcase counter designed by Fabrizio Milesi, which overturns roles and patterns of interaction, and is a perfect example of the revolutionary nature of the automation concept.
A glue that allows us to catch a glimpse of innovative avenues to be explored and enhanced, narrated by three cornerstones of the CIAM team in its particular declinations. Luigi Pompili, from R&D department, Francesco Pompili, Handling and Planning Manager, and Andrea Chiocchioni, Purchasing Office of the electrical department and Warehouse Officer, show the aspects of automation integrated with daily operations.
A true cross-cutting revolution, starting from the inside.
